Provo Temple

Remi is always late, and today was no different. When Remi was looking up where the temple was, she figured the suggested Provo Masonic Temple was the desired destination. Long story short, she ended up in a less than desirable part of Provo… with no temple.

After a course correction, we met in the temple and were able to go through an endowment session. Note to self, the Provo Temple on Saturday morning is definitely not the ideal time to attend… VERY BUSY.

But you know what? The wait to begin our session allows us time to read from both the Book or Mormon and the Doctrine in Covenants. The session was amazing, as it always is.

After we took pictures because what is a blog without cute, stylish pics taken by an amazing photographer (i.e. Remi). We were both STARVING. We had been spiritually fed so we thought it a good idea to get something to eat.

Let us take a short detour from our story to shoutout the cutest little Thai restaurant in Provo! Thai Ger (formally Thai Village) on University Ave. The best curry and if you are a true American who doesn’t appreciate cultured food, fried rice. Not only was the food great, but we had the most amazing customer experience with the wonderful staff. Remi took her camera in and the manager, or so we think, offered to take a picture for us! He even relocated us where he knew we would have better lighting. And to put the cherry onto, when we were getting back into the car, a young man with some takeout came and shut Emily’s doors while she was busy situating her skirt!

People are honestly amazing.

We wanted to draw a parallel from our experience today. Sometimes we start off on a track knowing our destination, but not the course required to reach it. With every intent we set off, but sometimes we don’t end up at the desired location. Not at first anyways.

In life there are distractions, and there are temptations that lead us to sin and derail us, and many times we fail to reach our destination. The good news is that through Christ, there is always a way to “reroute” our path and reach our destination. No matter how many times we reach the “wrong temple”, we have hope to try again.

God is calling to His children. He wants them back, all of them. He sees the trial and error, the heartbreak when we fall short, and He knows how oppositional life is. That is why He gave us Christ. A big brother who has walked the path, who knows the destination, and who perfectly obeyed. Because of Christ, we can get back on track and reach our destination. Trust in the Lord. Let Him love you, guide you, and don’t give up on yourself because He would never give up on you.

We know this to be true, and bear our witness of the Atonement, and the Plan of Salvation.
